Celona AerConnect Demo with Prince Jose
Introducing Celona’s AerConnect, Celona's open source, multi-wireless connectivity for robotics, shown live as AMRs switch between private 5G and Wi-Fi.
Celona’s new AerConnect initiative tackles a problem robotics manufacturers know well: they’re experts at building robots, not networks, so connectivity often gets treated as an afterthought. Add a crowded menu of options like private 5G, Wi-Fi and satellite, and it’s easy to see why robots on the plant floor end up stuck on whatever network happens to be available, whether or not it fits the job.
AerConnect changes that by sitting on top of any robotics platform, regardless of hardware, to intelligently manage multi-wireless environments. In a live demo from a smart plant, Prince showed AMRs switching networks on the fly: private 5G for mission-critical moments, like an AI system spotting a worker in a robot’s path and instantly alerting the plant supervisor, and Wi-Fi for bandwidth-heavy tasks like software updates. And rather than selling it, Celona is making AerConnect open source so the whole robotics ecosystem can build on it together.
